We at 3Broken Arrows have a deep love for the outdoors and we have learned from our mistakes along the way.
Share what you love to do with someone who is new to it. I can remember so vividly the first time my cousin and I
went into the woods on our first deer hunt together. He had been a few times but I was still pretty much brand new.
We made every mistake in the book. We set our tree stands up wrong with the wind blowing at our backs and
soon were blown out of the trees by deer. We set them in the wrong direction and when the deer ran away and the
sun would come up it would be in our faces. You've got to understand, though, we were both from the city and didn't
have anyone to learn from or to introduce us to the art of hunting that we now love dearly. Thank God we both have
come along ways from those days.
We have become quite accurate at finding out where the deer will be pushed in gun season. Knowing where the
does will be during the rut. And we both have had more than our fair share of big bucks come by our stands. What
I would hope to get across is that you can bet your bottom dollar, we will pass it on. My cousin cannot wait to take
his son hunting and we already have taken him out scouting and putting up trail cams. When my grandsons get old
enough you bet I will do the same. But it does not end there. We both will take anybody who wants to go and they
are lucky, in our eyes, because they have a good shot at seeing deer. Not the case with us a few years ago.
Now our lives have changed so much. He has a daughter starting college and I swear she could sing for the
angels quartet. I have discovered a love for the outdoors I never knew existed. Not bad for a so-called city boy!
So what I am telling you is the truth. My cousin and I had to make all the wrong moves to learn the right ones.
